A Victoria's Secret model, an Iron Man athlete & a nurse walk into a dinner party
Ready for a short story?
It's about respecting your true nature and the things you'll never be.
So a Victoria's Secret model, an Iron Man athlete and a nurse walk into a dinner party.....
Mile long legs complete with a sultry, yet playful attitude. Photoshoots. Magazines. Travelling. Brand promotions. Getting paid to be gorgeous. Stunningly gorgeous. Her naturally tall, thin frame is perfect for the job. It's easy to see that she has an energetic and creative mind. She explains how she loves excitement and new experiences, but how she constantly has cold hands and cold feet when she travels. The guests also learn through conversation that she sleeps lightly and has sensitive digestion.
The conversation turned to the Iron Man athlete. This guy is extreme with a fiery nature. He's got an insane muscular build - must be from all that training. Running, swimming, biking - he loves the concentration that it all takes. And talk about stamina. He's got loads of stamina. The guests listened to the Iron Man's personal story, absolutely riveted and pummeled him with questions when he was finished. Where does your abundant energy come from? How did you eat so much for dinner? Your digestion & appetite must be so strong! How long have you been this insane?
The model thinks to herself: Not in a million years will that be me. I'm just not built like him. I don't have the natural capacity to lead that lifestyle.
Next up is the nurse. She's radiant. A woman with a strong build, thick flowing hair and large, soft eyes. The guests find out that she works at one of the top hospitals in the country. Her stamina, patience and loyal work ethic got her there. She seems to lead a rather leisurely & calm lifestyle consisting of taking care of patients and lounging by the sea when she's off duty. She explains how she loves having a job that offers the routine of nurturing others and expressing her loving, thoughtful nature.

At the end of the party it occurs to each one of them that they have their own delicious natural joys and their not in a million years situations.
The story above is a tale that guides you through the three doshas of Ayurveda, Vata, Pitta and Kapha (in that order). Knowing your dosha helps one better understand their own physical and emotional qualities.
I use Ayurveda to help me understand the best foods for my unique makeup, as my guide for seasonal food choices and as my go-to resource for using food as medicine.

And how beautiful that is.
Many people are scared of the things they'll never be. They resist that which they don't understand. But, there is another place to reside. A place where everything you are and everything everyone else is - is OK. It's all good. In that place you can enjoy the spark within you and the innate impulses of others.
