Ayurveda Resources

The world of Ayurveda might seem foreign to you right now. All the sanskrit, funky herbs & such a close relationship with your body.... I know it was a bit overwhelming for me in the beginning.

Let's be honest. Doing your first cleanse and learning how to eat for your body type is a huge deal!

Making these shifts in your habits around personal healthcare, your diet & your daily routines are much easier when you know where to start and where to look to for encouragement.

Over the past few years I've gathered a lot of support from these blogs, books & extraordinary people listed below (each link is set to open in a new window so you can keep coming back to this list).

My referrals are given with extreme love, care and first hand experience (these are not affiliate links with the exception of the books - because I created a lovely bookstore through amazon.com to get all of my recommendations in one place).

Dr. Vasant Lad | The Ayurvedic Institute

A masterful teacher. Guru even. He's credited for bringing Ayurveda to the US. He has several technical books to further your at-home education.

Deepak Chopra | Chopra.com

Does he even need an intro? Deepak Chopra is a world-renowned authority in the field of mind-body healing, a best-selling author, and the founder of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing. Heralded by Time Magazine as the "poet-prophet of alternative medicine."

John Douillard | LifeSpa.com

Advancing ancient wisdom through modern science, he's published books, hosts cleanses & teaches Ayurveda. The short videos on his site deal with real issues and will educate you about how to take care of yourself the Ayurvedic way.

YogaHealer | Sync up your families health with the education that Cate Stillman offers. It's evolutionary + accessible, but she's intense.
LifeSpa | John Douillard is a clear-thinking teacher who speaks in terms everyone can understand.
Joyful Belly | Josh Joseph Immel makes ayurvedic cooking simple with tasty recipes.
HeyMonicaB | A blooming resource on Ayurveda & modern guide to living healthy through Ayurveda.

Schools & Online Courses

I have personally taken the Living Ayurveda Course with Cate Stillman. The other recommendations here have been gathered from people in my community who have furthered their path by going to school. National Association of Ayurvedic Medicine is also a great place to start researching on your own if you're feeling called to a more formal education.
