Health & Wellness: Encinitas, CA
Why hello kindred spirits. It's so amazing how much your experience of a place can shift when you're "looking out" for life-enhancing places to eat, shop, and exercise...or eat, pray, and love I suppose. I don't know about you, but I love life so much more when I treat myself to these types of experiences. We are what we eat and consume. There's no question about it. So, I put together a guide for you if you're in the Enciniatas area. It's a delightful oceanside town in southern California with a lotta spiritual growth on the horizon (read the yoga section below to see what I'm talkin' about). To support you in rocking your health, spiritual wealth & happiness I'm sharing my guide with you. Below is my love list:
Restaurants
The Greenery is an organic, vegan, raw food café open for lunch and dinner. They make lunch easy by offering delicious, ready-made items you can grab right out of the fridge. Their dinner menu is short and sweet offering a few staples like salads, a burger, pizza, vegetable curry, a cream cheese sandwhich, spaghetti & meatballs, and desserts. The conscious & cozy café
Lotus Café & Juice Bar There's items on the menu the whole family would enjoy (i.e. those that don't make it a point to eat vegan, vegeatarian, or gluten free)
Q'ero Restaurant brings Peruvian and South American cuisine to Encinitas. This is my favorite restuarant in town! Their well-crafted South American flavors combined with the authentically decorated & cozy space won my heart. Q'ero embodies the pleasure of dining out and defines cooking as an artisian craft. This restaurant ultimately made the list becasue of their alignment with the Slow Food Movement and their delishious quinoa side pairings. Ladies and gentleman, make this one happen!
Coffee & Tea
Pannikin Coffee & Tea, a family owned and operated business, is the place to go for buying coffee and tea by the glass & in bulk. They offer several organic varieties of both. You won't be disappointed by their single origin coffees and propritary blends from all over the world. The tea list is lengthy and notable as well.
Anusara Yoga
The Center is a VERY exciting new addition to the Anusara community and will be located in Encinitas right next to Yogananda's Self Realization Fellowship. John Friend shares that it will be a home base for the teachings and practice of Anusara. It's set to open in Fall 2011.
The Willows Yoga is another kula that supports the heartbeat of Anusara in this wonderful little town.

Nubo Nau is a lovely boutique dedicated to showcasing the very best natural & organic skincare products the market has to offer. The staff extended a laudable contribution of their time and showed their commitment to customer service and life-enhancing skincare. Do stop in if you're perusing the town. I guarantee you'll leave more knowable about skincare...and maybe with a product or two ;)

Transcend Spa is just a few miles outside of Encinitas in Carlsbad, but is worth the short commute because it treats you to an affordable & organic spa experience.
